Guidelines for Reopening
As parishes throughout the Archdiocese of Toronto prepare to re-open, the Archdiocese would like to share its "WorshipSafe" plan with the faithful.
This plan was created in consultation with the Assembly of Catholic Bishops of Ontario, as well as health and safety experts specializing in infectious disease. Well in advance of the church re-opening announcement, the Archdiocese shared this plan with the provincial government in order to get its feedback.
Over the coming days, the Archdiocese will be sharing more resources with the faithful that will explain how we will re-open churches while protecting your health. We are committed to providing a safe and sacred Mass for the faithful.
Cardinal Collins has released two new documents to help guide us in the process of reopening the churches. The first is a statement entitled Timeline for Re-opening Churches in the Archdiocese of Toronto. The second is the Archdiocese of Toronto “Return to Church” guidelines. Please take a look.
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul Corpus Christi Conference continues to operate and provide food assistance to our neighbours in need. We do however find ourselves in the unusual situation of being without our weekly collections from the Society’s “Poor Boxes” as a result of the parishes being closed during this health crisis.
If you are able to we ask that you please continue supporting us and thank you in advance for your consideration.
Donations can be made to the Society in the following ways:
1. Send a cheque to our parish office made payable to 'Society of Saint Vincent de Paul'
Office address: 16 Lockwood Road, Toronto, ON M4L 3M8
2. Go on-line to the Society’s website www.ssvptoronto.ca, ; click Donate which will take you to Canada Helps On there click “Donate Now” to donate by credit card through Canada Helps; please note the name of our Conference: Society of Saint Vincent de Paul, Corpus Christi Conference
3. Call our Society’s Central Council office at 416 364-5577 and donate by credit card, again stipulating the name of our local Society of Saint Vincent de Paul Corpus Christi Conference
If you know of persons who are currently without an income and unable to purchase groceries, please have them leave us a message at (416) 698-8930
Welcome to Corpus Christi's parishioner community website run by parishioners for parishioners at the request of parishioners. This site is a "private social network". Timings of all masses and other regular devotions are listed on the left. Located at 1810 Queen Street East in The Beach in Toronto, the parish of Corpus Christi is home to a vibrant, active Catholic community. The Church was built in 1927 and was declared a heritage building by the City of Toronto in 1973. In addition to beautiful stained glass by Italian-Canadian master Guido Nincheri, the church houses a mural by the Canadian painter William Kurelek whose works also hang in the AGO. The Choir of Corpus Christi is one of the best kept musical secrets in Toronto. Every Sunday at 11 am, this talented amateur choir under the baton of musical director and organist Paul Dick, leads congregation and visitors in beautiful liturgical music as the Mass is celebrated. Corpus Christi was assigned the school chaplaincy for St Denis Catholic School in 2014 during the tenure of then-pastor Msgr Bianco and these duties are now carried out by our current pastor Fr Prasanth. Bishop Robert Kasun oversees the zone in which Corpus Christi falls.
New parishioners, please be aware that becoming a member of this parishioner-run community site is not the same as parishioner registration.
